Almost there

“Are you nervous?!” and “Oh how excited are you?!” are consistent questions I’ve been asked over the past few weeks. Honestly, I’m still not either of those things. Packing up our life, moving out of our home, and then heading to my bestie’s wedding has taken up nearly all my brain capacity. There’s been limited space for thoughts of the trail just yet. Whether dehydrated Christmas dinners exist has been just about all I can manage.

After the most incredible few days saying goodbye to the Jenkins & Allens in the Shire and celebrating Anna & Dickie in Jervis Bay, I’m now sitting at Sydney Airport waiting to board our flight to Auckland. It’s maybe now, just a little bit starting to sink in that we walk on Saturday.

A glass of Pinot is washing away the airport drama of forgottten NZeTAs and our Aussie PR not registering and now not even a two hour flight delay can slump my mood. I will sit in this lounge for as long as I am required because finally, after almost two years of dreaming, TA - were coming for you.
